Is There?
Is there ever a good ending?
Is it not that endings bring grief?
Is it not that joy eludes these?
I give you this
Summer endings are the most rogue
Winter’s have a grace of the untold
Spring’s are sudden and brief
Autumn’s are kind and sweet
What is to be gained?
If endings all put eternity into shame?
Well, they do not.
Endings bring creation into play
Allow the joy of youth to plummet those of age
And most welcomed ones of the summer’s day
Life puts beauty in another way
Gives it a kindness to soften the grey
Let’s winter deal with what’s at stake
And gives Autumn its most valuable say
As of Spring,
Ever so slightly, creation gives it a sting
For its timeous days hold us an abode
In a most tranquil decay
Give way to a new horizon
And put aside your grievances
Give haste to joy for tomorrow’s could be youth’s way ◆
